80 years old woman commits suicide
An 80-year old woman committed suicide by consuming poison at Twisindrai under Teliamura on Saturday.
According to sources, her son who lives in Agartala, did not turn up even after receiving information about his mother’s death.
For a long time, the body of the unfortunate old woman, Sunati Rudrapal, remained in the verandah of the hospital.
Sources alleged Sunati Rudrapal committed suicide at her residence adjacent to the Santoshi Maa temple at Twisindribari in Teliamura police station around noon on Saturday owing to a family dispute in the area. Locals, after noticing the incident, took her to Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital.
The on-duty doctor declared brought dead.
It is learned that Sunati Rudrapal has a son and a daughter-in-law. They live in a rented house in Agartala. Sunati Devi came back to her home in Twisindrai from her son’s rented house. But after two days, on Saturday, Sunati Devi committed suicide after consuming poison.
After the initiative of the Teliamura police, the body of the old woman was kept in the morgue of Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital for autopsy. After the autopsy, the body will be handed over to the family.
Train mows woman
A 59-year old woman was fatally run over by a train while she was trying to cross rail lines during her morning walk. The deceased woman, Kalyani Sinha, hailed from Nadiapur area under Sanichhara-Nadiapur village near Tripura-Assam state boundary. Dharmanagar Rail Police recovered the body and handed over the corpse after autopsy. Meanwhile, Rail Police have started a probe after lodging a complaint.
