CNG, PNG price hiked
Along with the recent hike in fuel prices, the price of CNG and PNG is increased in Tripura.
The Tripura Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (TNGCL) on Friday last issued a revised price for both the CNG and PNG of domestic-government, domestic-non government, commercial and industrial in Agartala and west Tripura and PNGC industrial in IGC, Bodhjungnagar.
According to the revised rate chart, the price of CNG in West Tripura district is hiked from Rs. 60 to Rs. 68, CNG in all other districts in Tripura – from Rs. 63 to Rs. 72, PNG of domestic-non government hiked from Rs. 28 to Rs. 33.50, PNG domestic-government – from Rs. 33 to Rs. 39.50, PNG commercial and industrial in Agartala and west Tripura – from Rs. 33 to Rs. 44 and PNGC industrial in IGC, Bodhjungnagar – from Rs. 19.50 to Rs. 30.50.
In view of the price hike, the drivers of the three-wheeler passenger auto-rickshaws on Saturday expressed concern and demanded the government to increase the passengers’ fare.
IPFT: 2-day State conference begins
A two-day State conference of the IPFT has started from Saturday in Agartala. With the upcoming Assembly polls in mind, the conference assumes a lot of significance in view of the emerging political situation in the State.
The emergence of TIPRA Motha pushing IPFT into corner, joining of Patal Kanya along with her supporters in BJP and poor health condition of the IPFT supreme NC Debbarma – all the making the conference of the party crucial for its next step.
Speaking to the media, IPFT general secretary Mever Kumar Jamatia also dubbed the two-day Conference as crucial. He said party delegates of all divisions across the State will submit reports on ground level situation – and intense discussion would be held in the conference to determine the next course of action.
On Poll alliance Jamatia said the issue would be discussed in the conference – party workers will discuss the issue of forming an alliance with Tipra Motha. He also said both the State and Central Committees would be reconstituted.
Discussions will be held on the reports submitted by divisional leaders and on the upcoming Assembly polls. After a thorough analysis of the present situation, the party would ponder over its poll strategies, Jamatia told the reporters.
The two-day State-level conference will be concluded on April 3.
