124 Phensedyl bottles seized, 2 detained
Tripura Police, continuing its drive against Narcotics and contraband items, recovered a large quantity of Phensedyl cough syrup bottles from a passenger bus.
The bus was heading towards Damchhara from Agartala on Thursday morning along the national highway. Police stopped the bus near the Teliamura police station.
Acting on a tip-off, Teliamura police led by officer Premjit Ray conducted a search operation inside the passenger bus bearing the registration number TR-06 1203.
During the search, a total of 124 bottles of Phensedyl were seized.
Police detained the driver and assistant of the bus having a market value of approximately Rs. 37000, police said.
Road accident: one injured
In a road accident one woman was injured after a speedy bike hit her at Bidur Karta Chowmohani area in Agartala on Thursday.
Although there are traffic police at the corners of Bidur Karta Chowmohani, it is alleged, they do not take actions against rash driving.
When the accident took place at Bidur Karta Chaumuhani in Agartala the traffic police allegedly did not come forward to help the victim.
The biker claimed that he was innocent. The injured woman said she was on the side of the road when a speeding bike hit her. Local people rushed her to GB hospital.
