Road accidents: 12 wounded in last 2 days
In three different places in Tripura, at least 12 persons were wounded in road mishaps on Saturday and Sunday.
Seven persons were hurt after an auto collided with a Maruti Alto Car at Icharbil area under Teliamura Police station on Saturday last. Among them, condition of two persons was critical and referred to the GB Hospital while remaining persons are undergoing treatment at Teliamura Sub-divisional Hospital.
In another incident of road mishap at least 3 persons were injured on Sunday when a scooty and bicycle collided at Gopalnagar under Kalyanpur Police Station today. The wounded persons were brought to Kalyanpur Hospital. Meanwhile police seized the scooty from the spot of the incident. The injured persons are Bishnupada Dutta Chowdhuri, Bayar Debbarma and Tiyar Debbarma.
In a separate incident, two bikers were injured after a collision between the bike and an auto at Manapathar Bazar under Santirbazar subdivision in South Tripura district on Sunday. The injured persons are undergoing treatment at Santirbazar district hospital.
Civic Action programmes by BSF
In Tripura, as part of civic action programme, BSF jawans of Battalion 150 organized a free health check up camp, distributed bi-cycles and sports items at the Ashabari BOP ground on Saturday. In the health camp, over 200 villagers belonging to BPL category received medicines free of cost after health checkups.
Besides, on behalf of the BSF Bn 150, bi-cycles and sports items were distributed among the inhabitants of 11 villages under the BOP.
BSF jawans of 133-battalion also held a civic action programme at Kulubari Higher Secondary School on Friday last. In the programme, study materials and sports items Sintex water tanks etc worth Rs 1 lakh 33 thousand were distributed among the villagers.
Moreover, a health camp was also organized in which people from West Aralia, Kulubari, NC Nagar and other areas participated and received medicines free of cost.
