Successful surgery at Rural PHC
The state government’s efforts to decentralize the health services up to the sub-division level have started reflecting with successful surgeries being conducted in many of the rural health facilities.
While the state’s largest GBP hospital is reaching new heights in terms of improved healthcare, the doctors and other medical staff posted in the rural hospitals are also trying to deliver their best to ensure medical facilities to the people.
Recently, the medical team of Sanicherra Primary Health Centre in Dhalai district has successfully removed stone from the urinary bladder of a 32-year-old youth.
The patient, resident of Chailengta in Dhalai district, initially denied visiting any hospital for financial reasons. Finally, he got admitted in the PHC on February 6 last.
Dr. Arijit Das and Dr. Bishwanath Chakma of Sanicherra PHC conducted the successful operation and removed the stones. The doctors were assisted by GDA Bangshajoy Halam. According to an official release, the post-surgery health condition of the patient is stable.
Road rage kills child
As the road rage continues, one 4 years old child fell victim and died on Saturday. While crossing a busy road at Ramesh Chowmuhani in Udaipur, Riaz Hossen – only son of Rasul Mia – came under the wheels of a vehicle and crushed to death on spot. A resident of Western bank of Amar Sagar lake Riaz came to buy medicine with a relative. Later, Police personnel led by SDPO Dhruba Nath visited the area. The ‘killer’ vehicle car was detained at R.K. Pur Police Station.
Sweeper held for Impersonating as Food Inspector
Bagma police arrested one heath staff for impersonating as a Food Inspector and demanding bribe from Bagma market under Udaipur Sub-division on Friday.
The arrestee- Paltu Dhar works as a sweeper under the health department in Udaipur under Gomati district. Locals detained him and handed over to police when he went to the market and demanded bribes from the local traders pretending to be a Food Safety Inspector.
Locals alleged, the person identified himself as Bholan Dhar, in-charge of food safety inspectors in the West, Gomati and South districts. However, the locals became suspicious and called the police.
Accordingly, the police rushed to the market and arrested the accused after the preliminary investigation.
