2nd joint biennial state conference of TGB ends
The two-day long 2nd Biennial State Conference of Tripura Gramin Bank Employees Association (TGBEA) and Tripura Gramin Bank Officers Union (TGBOU) concluded on Sunday at Dasharath Deb Smriti Bhavan in Supari Bagan in Agartala.
The conference began with the Mahila Convention on April 9 last. Convener Sudipa Roy presented the report at the Mahila Convention. Samrita Roy, Odyssey Chakraborty, Ratna Banerjee and Sheila Kole took part in the discussion on the report.
On the first day of the state conference, the body’s General Secretary Sanjay Das presented the organizational report.
During his speech on the second day of the state conference on Sunday, the General Secretary of the National Federation of RRB Officers Abdul Syed Khan mainly stressed stabilizing the daily attendance staff of Tripura Gramin Bank.
He also discussed in detail about the pension issue of retirees, current economic situation and discussed strategies for making the organization stand on solid ground in a hostile environment.
Rest of the speakers highlighted the organizational weaknesses and suggested the ways to solve those issues.
However, during the two days long state conference a 35-member working committee was unanimously formed for the next two years. Siddhartha Deb Ray was elected as president of the union, Sanjay Das was re-elected as the secretary and Surjit Debbarma was elected as the treasurer.
Bike rally on Ram Navami
In order to mark the Ram Navami Festival, the Viswa Hindu Parishad (VHP) organized a mega bike rally at Bishalgarh under Sepahijala in Tripura on Sunday.
A colourful rally with the idols of Ram, Laxman, Sita and Hanuman roamed around several streets of the town including Bishalgarh bazar, Office Tilla area and Sub-divisional Magistrate Office.
Womenfolk on both sides of the road greeted the rally participants with flowers.
District president of Viswa Hindu Parishad, Krishnendu Deb, Vice-president Bishabushan Chakraborty, Parishad’s Tripura Chapter Secretary Sankar Roy and others were present in the rally.
