Tripura eve scripts success in sports
Tripura eve has excelled and qualified to represent India in World University Games which is scheduled to be held in China this year.
Madhumita Deb, a former student of Tripura Sports School and a resident of the State bagged Silver Medal on the valedictory day of four-day long All India Inter-University Athletics (Women) Championship 2021-22. The 81st edition of the Championship was held in KIIT Deemed to be University, Odisha.
Over 2000 athletes, officials, coaches participated from more than 200 Universities across the country in this mega event.
On final day of the championship today, Madhumita Deb competed in her favourite event – 200 m race. She covered the distance within 24.26 second and won the Silver medal in this event.
With this win, Madhumita Deb qualified to represent India in the World University Athletics competition. It will be held at Chengdu in China.
TTAADC Budget session in March
The Budget session of the Tripura Tribal Area Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) will commence from next month. In a statement, TTAADC chairman Jagadish Debbarma said, the Budget three-day long Budget session at Khumulwng will begin from March 11 next.
“The Budget session will be held on March 11, 14 and 15 next”, Debbarma said.
The upcoming Budget session will be crucial for the ruling TIPRA Motha as it would the last Budget before the Assembly Polls are being conducted in 2022-23. With 20 seats come under the TTAADC areas, TIPRA Motha is expected to go whole hog for a populist Budget.
The Health sector in the TTAADC areas is likely to get emphasis along with education, ADC sources opined.
