Tripura eve selected for World Gym Championship
Talented gymnast of Tripura, Pratishtha Samanta will represent India in World Championship in Gymnastics. The Championship will be held at Cairo, the Capital city of Egypt.
Dronacharya Bisheshwar Nandi has been selected as the coach, Tripura Gymnastics Association informed the media in a press release on Friday. The competition will be held during March 17-20 next.
Tripura Bar Asso Poll: 31 candidates in fray
The Tripura Bar Association will go for a poll on Saturday in which a total of 416 voters will cast their vote to decide the fate of a total of 31 candidates belonging to two panels.
Returning officer for the poll, Advocate Sandip Datta Chowdhury on Friday informed the media that polls will be held for 15 posts this year. He said that a total of three booths will be set up to conduct the election.
The voting will start from 9 AM on Saturday and end at 1:30 PM. The election officials said that after the lunch break, the counting of votes will begin and the results will be declared later on Saturday.
Advocate Datta Chowdhury also said all the necessary arrangements have been made for ensuring free and fair elections.
Tika Rath for C-Vax
Aiming to build ‘Sushtha Tripura, Shrestha Tripura’ and ‘Covid free Tripura’, Khowai District Health department has come out with an innovative and attention grabbing initiative – Tika Rath (Vaccine Chariot).
District Health Officer of Khowai, Dr Nirmal Sarkar and District Immunization Officer Dr Bikram Debbarma inaugurated the Tika Rath.
Speaking to the media, Dr Sarkar said the aim of the Tika Rath is to reach the un-vaccinated people of the district and bring them under the vaccination drive to ensure 100 percent vaccination in the district.
