The Youth Wing of Mizo Convention (MC-YW), Jampui Hills in Tripura calls for an indefinite bandh starting from dawn of July 12 within Jampui Hill RD Block administrative area.
The bandh is being called to press the government to execute immediate major repair works of PWD road from Hmunpui to Damcherra.
The MC-YW of Jampui Hills, on previous occasions met various concerned departments of government, including the Executive Engineer and Sub-divisional Magistrate of Kanchanpur subdivision recently.
With the ongoing construction of NH44A Kanchanpur to Jampui Hills, the lifeline of the Hills, making the stretch impassable on rainy days, major repair of this alternative route from Hmunpui to Damcherra is the need of the hour.
This stretch has not been maintained for over a decade and even villagers of Hmunpui and Hmawngchuan villages take the responsibility upon their shoulders to repair the stretch annually using monetary contribution from their own pockets beside contributing the labour component too.
This bandh will ensure closure of all offices, roads and other services except essential services like medical, security, and electricity.
