After losing power in Tripura in 2018, CPIM leaders have become desperate to return to power again – and CPIM Politburo leader Manik Sarkar’s appeal to Leftists to vote for Congress nominated INDIA bloc candidate is a living example of this. Tripura Pradesh BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee said while addressing a press conference at the BJP office in Agartala on Sunday.
He said, there was a campaign, during the LF regime, across the country that there was no leader like Manik Sarkar in terms of political ideals, but today, for political interests, Manik Sarkar himself went out to appeal to CPIM workers to vote for the hand symbol, sacrificing his principles and ideals.
Bhattacharjee continued his tirade against Sarkar and said, it is the same Manik Sarkar, who for a long time dubbed the Congress-TUJS era as a dark day – and he is now asking people to vote for the Congress candidate with the hand symbol instead of the hammer and sickle. Only a person, devoid of ideals can make such an appeal, the BJP president alleged.
Slamming the alliance between Congress and CPIM, Rajib Bhattacharjee, in the presence of Convener of the Election Management Committee and Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy and Co-convener of the Committee Dr Ashok Sinha and party’s spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty, released ‘crime sheet’ during the Congress-led coalition period and the CPIM regime today. The saffron Party leaders presented pictures of various criminals of previous Congress and CPIM led Governments.
Bhattacharjee alleged CPIM-Congress leaders are trying to mislead the people. He also highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unwavering commitment for the overall development of the country and appealed to people to vote for the BJP-led alliance candidates.
