Tripura Pradesh Congress released a 13-point charge sheet on Wednesday against the BJP government in the State for alleged failure of the government in delivering poll promises during its four-and half years old rule.
The release of the charge sheet, 15 days ahead of the Assembly by-polls in Tripura, blamed the BJP government in Tripura for growing frustration among the people.
The All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Dr. Ajay Kumar accompanied by the AICC secretary Szaritha Laiphang, PCC president Birajit Sinha and party leader and candidate for by-election Asish Saha had released the charge sheets and accused the government of making absurd promises to the people of this state before the 2018 general assembly election.
Addressing a press conference and prior releasing the charge sheets ahead of the by-elections and the ensuing 2023 general election in Tripura the AICC general secretary Dr. Ajay Kumar alleged that during the last four and half years the people of this state were duped by the absurd pre-poll promises of the BJP government.
“The ensuing by-elections will surely probe the growing frustration and disappointment of the people of this state with the BJP government,” Kumar claimed.
Reading out the 13-point charge sheet framed by the congress party, the PCC president Birajit Sinha alleged that before coming the power the BJP had promised to give jobs to every household but less than five percent have been given and that too through outsourcing and they also promised to give fifty thousand jobs in the first year but did nothing.
“Currently the employees of Tripura are getting only 3% of DA which is 31% less than what the central employees are getting, whereas the BJP had in its vision documents had promised pay package as per the 7th Central Pay Commission recommendations for the employees of the state,” Sinha said, adding that the BJP had promised free education for all but instead introduced ‘Vidyajyoti scheme’ through which the BJP is now trying to extort money from the people.
Sinha said, “The BJP government had betrayed the 10,323 ad-hoc teachers of the state by its false promises.”
He added that BJP has only misled the people by making absurd promises like bringing ships to Tripura by the Gomati River. He also pointed out the rampant corruption among BJP leaders and the critical law and order situation and other negative factors for which BJP is responsible.
