State Cabinet of Tripura greenlit decision on Wednesday to fill up 147 vacant posts under various departments, approved a proposal for Janajati Welfare and gave nod to implementation of the ecabinet system.

Tourism Minister of Tripura, Sushanta Chowdhury revealed the State Cabinet decisions in a press conference in Agartala today.

The cabinet endorsed the direct recruitment of 8 Sports Officers (Group-B, Gazetted) through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC) within the Youth Affairs and Sports department.

Furthermore, the council of Ministers approved the filling of 50 vacant Supervisor positions (Group-C, non-gazetted) within the Tribal Welfare and SC Welfare departments on a fixed-pay basis.

In the field of education, the cabinet greenlit the recruitment of 14 teaching positions at Maharaja Bir Bikram University under the Higher Education department.

The posts are – English Professor (1), Mathematics Professor (1), Library and Information Science Professor (1), Political Science Professor (1), Associate Professor English (1), Associate Professor Mathematics (1), Associate Professor Political Science (1), Associate Professor Library and Information Science (1), Assistant Professor Kokborok (4), Assistant Professor Mathematics (1) and Assistant Professor Librarian Information Science (1).

The cabinet granted approval for the recruitment of 75 Assistant Professors in General Degree Colleges.

Proposals were cleared by the cabinet for creating 125 posts for physical education teachers under the School Education department and 125 Librarian positions for Vidyajyoti Schools, aligning with the provisions of the New Education Policy.

A noteworthy digital transition was also announced, as the Cabinet green signalled the implementation of an ecabinet system.

“The decision for ecabinet system has been approved by the council of ministers today. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha will inaugurate it. Tripura will be the fourth state after Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Arunachal Pradesh to have e-cabinet,” Chowdhury said.

Minister Chowdhury highlighted the state government’s commitment to Janajati Welfare, emphasizing the allocation of Rs. 30 crore for the first year under the Chief Minister Tribal Development Mission. This mission aims to uplift Janajati families by improving essential infrastructure, healthcare, education, and employment prospects through skill development training.

The Tourism Minister said that the beneficiary registration for the Mission would commence soon.
