At last, Tripura Unit of Trinamool Congress (TMC) has come up with a full-fledged State Committee on Friday without any surprise inclusion or exclusion.

Convener of Tripura TMC Subal Bhowmik has become the State president of the TMC with eight vice presidents. West Bengal TMC leader – who left the party before the Assembly polls there and rejoined TMC after post-poll – Rajib Banejee has been entrusted with the job of State In-Charge.

A six member core committee has been announced with Sushmita Dev, Subal Bhowmik, Ashish Das Bhriguram Reang Ashish La Singh (Ex-State TMC president) and Mamon Khan.

The jumbo 132-member State committee includes five general secretaries including Baptu Chakraborty. The general secretaries would be assisted by 14 secretaries and seven joint secretaries. Besides, 72 executive members feature in the State Committee. Also, a six-member State Frontal – Youth, seven-member State Frontal – Mahila, two-member SC Cell and 3-member ST Cell were announced.

Tripura unit of the TMC has also announced State Frontal – Youth with Santanu Saha as its State president and State Frontal – Mahila with Panna Deb being the State president.

Sanjoy Kumar Das has been appointed as state president of the TMC SC cell and Malin Jamatia as the State president of the ST Cell.

Former BJP MLA Ashish Das who recently vented his anger and alleged he was being ignored – found a place in the core committee.

Delay in the announcement of its State Committee raised several questions especially about its sincerity to build an organization in Tripura and it is fair to say that the newly formed State Committee will have a tough task ahead – even if the party is looking to secure 6 percent votes.

The new State Committee’s first task would be to find out a State party office as the party has no such office and it is operating from a Camp Office at the residence of Subal Bhowmik, commented a party worker.
