Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury went to Neer Mahal on Tuesday and held discussions with the stakeholders on the invasion of water hyacinths (Kachuripana) in Rudrasagar affecting boat operations in the lake.
“Due to the accumulation of water hyacinths (kachuripana) in Rudrasagar for the past few days, tourists are facing difficulties in visiting the Neermahal palace. The water hyacinths have covered most of Rudrasagar, making it impossible to operate boats or motorboats. The Neermahal palace, along with the surrounding area, is the livelihood of local traders, fishermen, and even residents”, said Chowdhury
A meeting was held today at the conference hall of the Rudrasagar Udbastu Samabay Samiti (RUDSS) at the Rajghat of Neermahal to discuss a solution to this problem of the water hyacinths and find a permanent solution.
