Teen chess prodigy, Tripura’s Aradhya Das (1762) clinched a bronze medal in the Asian Youth Under-10 Girls’ Championship, which concluded in Kazakhstan on Wednesday. Das secured the third spot with 6.5 points, demonstrating her exceptional chess skills on the international stage.
In the final round, Das faced off against Kazakh chess player Filippova Milana (1633) in a highly anticipated match closely followed by chess enthusiasts back home in her state. Playing with the black pieces, Das demonstrated remarkable strategic brilliance and ultimately emerged victorious.
This impressive performance earned Das the bronze medal, capping off her remarkable journey at the championship. The gold medal went to Alisa Galiimzhanova (1735) with 8.5 points.
A student of Matrix Chess Academy, Aradhya spoke via telephone from Kazakhstan, “This achievement will fuel my determination to excel in chess in the years to come. I have learned so much from this experience.”
The young chess player’s success has been met with an outpouring of congratulations from her coaches, teachers, and well-wishers.

Datta, who had previously guided another chess prodigy of the State, Arshiya Das, to victory in the same tournament, expressed his unwavering belief in Aradhya’s potential.
