TSECL MD starts interacting with consumers

In an attempt to address the consumer’s grievance, the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) has started a campaign “Vidyut Bandhu Apnar Sathey … Apnar Samashyar Druta Samadhan” on Wednesday.

 As part of the campaign, an event led by Managing Director of the TSECL, Er Debasish Sarkar, was held at Bishalgargh Division office of TSECL. This campaign will be organized across the state to listen to consumer grievances and suggestions to improve the service quality of TSECL with a vision to make TSECL a more consumer-friendly DISCOM.

While Er. Debasish Sarkar, MD, TSECL chaired today’s programme, Supriya Das, Chairperson of Sepahijala District Council also attended the programme. Among the other dignitaries Swati Chatterjee, AGM, Sepahijala Electrical Circle, Er. Rajib Kumar Roy, DGM, Bishalgarh Electrical Division were present in the Program.

Besides, consumers, public representatives, contractors, TSECL employees of all Electrical Subdivisions under Bishalgarh Electrical Division were present in the event.

The MD of TSECL interacted with all the persons present in the program. He gave many instant solutions to address the problems faced by the consumers. In the programme it was pointed out by some consumers that many new service connections were pending in this area due to a shortage of connection wires.

The MD, TSECL assured the consumers that the pending connections in this area would be provided within a week. Some consumers reported few people are engaged in theft of electricity in their area. The TSECL authority acknowledged the issues and gave assurance to increase vigilance activity in the area.

The MD, TSECL also elaborated on different new initiatives and future plans of TSECL to be carried out in the area for development in the coming days. Providing covered conductors to stop the theft of electricity under ADO-funded projects is one of them. Consumers expressed their happiness about the implementation of pre-paid meters in their area, they told they are now able to save more electricity and plan their consumption because of this.

Consumers and the public representatives present in the event thanked the State Government and TSECL for organizing such an event.

“It is praiseworthy that after assuming charge as MD, TSECL on January 31, Sarkar took such initiative to reach the consumers within such a short span of time.

MD, TSECL Sarkar encouraged the consumers to take benefits of different online services offered by TSECL for consumers convenience, he told the consumers to use BidyutBandhu App for View Bill online, Pay Bill, Complaint register/Complaint tracking, view consumption pattern, bill estimation etc.

The event was very successful in all respect, and one of its kind initiatives were taken by any Govt. organization in the state of Tripura. The program ended with a vote of thanks by Er.Rajib Roy, DGM, ED Bishalgarh. He thanked all the dignitaries and the participants for their active participation.
