Jawans of the Tripura State Rifles (TSR) are playing significant role in ensuring security of citizens – they have proved their efficiencies in dealing with the militancy in State as well as in performing duties in other States, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said during his visit to the headquarters of the 1st Battalion of TSR at Gokulnagar in Sepahijla district on Thursday.
Recently, the Chief Minister is visiting and inspecting the TSR headquarters in different parts of the state and inquiring into the problems of the TSR personnel.
“The jawans are discharging their duties with efficacy and proficiency; however, they cannot speak to the Chief Minister in one-to-one situation about their problems. That is why I being the Chief Minister as well as the Home Minister, am visiting the TSR HQs in the State and interacting with jawans as well as their families”, Deb said.
While visiting the HQ of TSR First Battalion at Gakulnagar, the Chief Minister inquired as to whether the jawans are facing any problem.
He inspected the accommodation and food facilities as well as other facilities available for the TSR personnel. Such a visit will boost the mental strength of the troopers, said the Chief Minister and added, the work started by the state government with a positive outlook will gain more momentum as time progresses. He also pointed out that the TSR personnel received benefits after the State Government implemented the 7th Pay commission recommendations.
Apart from interacting with the jawans and officers of the battalion, Deb also spent some time with them in casual mood and took selfies with the jawans and officers.
Talking about the visit, the TSR jawans expressed happiness as they could place their issues before the Chief Minister.
Biplab Kumar Deb also shared a cup of tea with the family members of the personnel. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Biswashree B, District Magistrate of Sepahijla District, Ratinjan Debnath, Superintendent of Police of Sepahijla District and other senior police officials.
