In the under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy Cricket tournament, Tripura will take on the mighty Punjab in the last match of the season on Friday. The match will be played at the Narsinghhar Police Training Academy ground.

In the match, at least two players are likely to make their debut in Friday’s match for the Tripura team.

Both teams have played four matches each in the tournament. Punjab has 16 points from four matches, while Tripura has just one point. As a result, Punjab is much ahead of Tripura in terms of strength.

Tripura has already lost three of its four matches in the tournament. The team narrowly escaped defeat against Goa thanks to a century from Saptajit Das.

Both teams completed their final preparations on Thursday. There have been major changes to the Tripura squad for the Punjab match. Five players have been dropped, and six new players have been added. Several cricketers will make their debuts against Punjab. However, it has not yet been finalized who will play in the first eleven.

The Tripura cricketers are determined to play well against Punjab in the last match of the season on home soil. On the other hand, Punjab, which is currently in third place, wants to return home with all the points from Tripura. Captain Krish Bhagat has made it clear that they have come to Tripura to win. Arjun Rajput and Anmoljit are also ready to defeat Tripura. It remains to be seen how much resistance Tripura can put up in this situation.

In the match, Sparsh Debbarma and Arkadyoti Deb will make their debuts for Tripura. Tripura will field a first eleven with six batsmen, two pacers, and three spinners against Punjab.

The batsmen in the squad will be Debanshu Dutta, Dwipjay Deb, Saptajit Das, Pritam Das, Priyansu Mitra, and Sparsh Debbarma. Pranabendu Saha and Dipayan Das will play as pacers. However, Dipayan is not fully fit. If he is not found fit in the morning, Debajit Saha will make his debut in place of Dipayan. The spinners will be Arkajit Roy, Rohan Biswas, and Arkadyoti Deb.
