In a mega outreach blitz, Tripura Pradesh BJP will take out an 8-day long ‘Rath Yatra’ titled as ‘Jana Vishwas Yatra’ from Dharmanagar in North district and Sabroom in South Tripura district.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will flag off both the ‘Rath Yatras’ on January 5 next, ICA Minister of Tripura Sushanta Chowdhury informed the media in Agartala on Friday (December 30).
He said the twin Yatra will connect with 10 lakh people through public meetings, rallies and street corners etc. Several National leaders and Union Ministers will hold public meetings highlighting Government’s welfare initiatives. Yuva Morcha activists will hold bike rallies accompanying the Raths.
Chowdhury along with Party’s State president Rajib Bhattacharjee, party’s State general secretaries Amit Rakshit and Tinku Roy presented details of the 8-day Rath Yatra – Jana Vishwas Yatra.
After traveling around 1000 km covering 60 Assembly seats, twin Rath will converge and culminate in Agartala on January 12 – the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda which is also observed as Yuva Diwas.
On January 12, a mega rally will be held which will be addressed by All India BJP president J P Nadda. The venue and other details are soon to be finalized.
The North Zone Rath Yatra will start from Dharmanagar on January 5 at 11 am. The Rath Yatra of South Zone will start from 2 pm, Rajib Bhattacharjee said.
Geographical locations of Kanchanpur, Gandachhera, Ampi and Boxanagar are such that the Raths will have to travel backwards – however, as a Rath does not move backwards, local Raths will be taken out in these areas which will merge with the main two Raths, said Sushanta Chowdhury.
Notably, Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA) Minister Sushanta Chowdhury is the in-charge of the Committee which will look after the management of the twin Rath Yatra while two general secretaries of the State BJP Tinku Roy and Amit Rakshit are co-in-charge.
