A young girl from the remote village of Saydarpar in Unakoti district of Tripura, has realised her long-cherished dream of scripting her name in the India Book of Records.

Jhuma Debnath, a class 11 student of Fatikroy Higher Secondary School achieved this feat by creating a map of India using playing cards.

Inspired by her magician father, Haripada Debnath, Jhuma has been fascinated by magic since childhood. Jhuma is also proficient in magic from a very young age

It was during her playful experiments with cards that the idea of creating a map of India dawned upon her. 

Jhuma embarked on her ambitious project, spending countless hours meticulously arranging and gluing the cards to form the intricate contours of our nation.

“She always has a tendency to do something new since childhood. Even this time, she didn’t tell anyone at home about this achievement before it happened”, said her father.

Over the course of five months, Jhuma used approximately 850 playing cards to construct her masterpiece – map of India. 

Her dedication and precision were evident in the final product, a visually striking and accurate representation of India’s geographical features.

Jhuma’s achievement has not only brought immense pride to her family and community but has also inspired countless others. 

Many former and current students of her School rushed to her house from Kailashahar to felicitate the talented girl. 

“Jhuma’s achievement is the pride of the state. We congratulated her on her success”, the students said. 

Local people of the area are also happy about the success of Jhuma.

Amidst congratulations, her father said, Jhuma wants to achieve recognition in the Guinness Book of World Records in the future.

Jhuma is elated to have climbed the ladder of success through her own efforts, rising from a simple household.
