Agartala: The Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress organised a protest rally in Agartala, raising concerns over alleged injustice, corruption, rising prices and unemployment. The demonstration focused on issues affecting students and young people across the state.

The protesters submitted a series of demands. They called for an investigation into the alleged NEET question paper leak case. They also demanded strict action to protect the future of students appearing for competitive examinations.

The protest also highlighted rising prices of essential commodities and fuels. The Youth Congress demanded steps to control the increasing costs of CNG, PNG, LPG, petrol and diesel.

The organisation further demanded measures to create employment opportunities and address unemployment among the youth.

NEET Paper Leak Issue Becomes Major Protest Point

Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress president Neel Kamal Saha, while speaking to the media today, alleged that the state had witnessed growing unrest over repeated question paper leak controversies involving NEET and CBSE examinations.

Saha claimed that examination irregularities have created uncertainty among lakhs of students. He alleged that authorities have failed to address the concerns of candidates affected by such issues.

According to Saha, around 22 lakh students have been impacted by the examination-related controversy. He questioned the government’s response and demanded accountability from the authorities.

He also criticised Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, alleging that he has avoided media interactions over the issue. Saha demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Dharmendra Pradhan over the matter.

He also alleged that some police personnel were earlier involved in illegal activities related to seized narcotic substances. The police administration has not issued a response to these allegations.

Clash Between Protesters and Police at Araymes Choumuhani

Tension increased during the protest at Araymes Choumuhani area in Agartala. A confrontation took place between Youth Congress workers and police personnel.

Saha claimed that several protesters suffered injuries during the incident. He said one person received a head injury while two to three others suffered injuries to their hands.

The Youth Congress president stated that the organisation would continue its movement. He said the protest represents the concerns of young people and not any other youth organisation.

Police Detain Youth Congress Leaders

Following the confrontation, police detained Youth Congress state president Neel Kamal Saha along with several other protesters.

The police took the detained protesters to the AD Nagar Police Lines ground in Agartala.
