Yuva Vikash Kendra, in collaboration with Kamalnayan Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation and Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, successfully conducted a mass relief distribution in three severely impacted areas of Kakraban R.D Block, Gomati District, Tripura. The regions, Murapara HS School Relief Camp, Shastri Colony under Murapara Panchayat, and Ramkrishna Para under Jamjuri RD Block, were devastated by recent floods.
A total of 245 dry ration kits, each containing essential items like Muri, Chira, Gur, Biscuits, milk, Gamcha, and Soaps, were distributed to the affected families. These kits provided much-needed relief and support to those who have lost their homes and belongings due to the floods.
The initiative was spearheaded by Debashis Majumder, president of Yuva Vikash Kendra. A dedicated team of volunteers, including Pinku Das, Trustee of YVK, Pratima Debbarma, Secretary of YVK, Hema Chowdhury, Sukanta Sarkar, Sebior Debbarma, Sujoy Majumder, and Priti Saha, played a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient distribution of relief materials.
Rajesh Das and Sukanta Das, District volunteers of Yuva Vikash Kendra, were instrumental in coordinating the relief efforts and ensuring that the supplies reached the most vulnerable families.
Yuva Vikash Kendra remains committed to providing assistance to those affected by the floods and will continue to work tirelessly to rebuild communities and restore livelihoods.
Notably, Tripura is reeling under severe floods and landslides which claimed at least 32 persons across the State. Three days of incessant rains starting on August 19 led to the devastating flood which caused approximately Rs 15,000 crore. An inter-ministerial team visited the State to assess the damage. Meantime, assistance is pouring in.
Organizations like the YVK, Ram Krishna Mission, employees, business houses and individuals, even children are donating to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help the flood victims.
