Teachers’ Role in Nation-Building Takes Centre Stage

The meeting brought together teachers and members to discuss education, professional responsibilities and national development. The programme opened with Saraswati Vandana. Participants then offered Pushpanjali before the portrait of Maa Saraswati.

National President Stresses Teachers’ Unity

Prof. Narayan Lal Gupta, National President of ABRSM, attended the meeting as Special Guest. He urged teachers to remain united while addressing the broader challenges of nation-building.

In his address, Gupta highlighted the importance of the Guru Parampara. He also reiterated the organisation’s guiding motto: “Rashtra Ke Hit Me Siksha, Siksha Ke Hit Me Sikshak and Sikshak Ke Hit Me Samaj”.

RSS Leader Calls for a Stronger Bharat

Nikhil Shankar Niwaskar, Prant Pracharak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Tripura Prant, attended the programme as Chief Guest.

Niwaskar discussed the changing global and national landscape. He called upon teachers to recognise India’s strengths and contribute to the country’s progress.

He urged educators to move beyond narrow personal interests. Instead, he encouraged them to work collectively towards the vision of making Bharat a Vishwaguru.

He also highlighted India’s cultural heritage, traditional wisdom, knowledge systems and talent. Furthermore, he called on teachers to engage actively with society and respond constructively to contemporary challenges.

ABRSM Highlights Teachers’ Welfare and Service Interests

Tirtharam Reang, President of ABRSM Tripura, delivered the presidential address. He outlined the organisation’s activities in the state and its efforts to protect teachers’ legitimate financial and service-related interests.

Reang thanked the Tripura Government for increasing Dearness Allowance (DA) and House Rent Allowance (HRA). He also acknowledged other benefits extended to employees.

He reaffirmed ABRSM’s commitment to improving teachers’ welfare and advancing education in Tripura.

27-Point Charter of Demands Presented

The second session featured Prof. Gupta, Roy Chowdhury, Reang and Dhirendra Debnath.

Gupta delivered the Bouddhik, focusing on the vision of Viksit Bharat and the goal of making India a Vishwaguru. He also discussed the importance of Kartavya in Bharatiya Parampara. He called for greater confidence in India’s culture, heritage and knowledge systems.

Roy Chowdhury presented the organisation’s 27-point charter of demands. The document outlined the key concerns and expectations of the teaching community.

NEP, AI and Cultural Values Feature in Discussions

In a further address, Gupta discussed the National Education Policy (NEP) and its role in promoting human values through education.

He highlighted the significance of the National Anthem and the National Song. He also stressed the relevance of “Vande Mataram” and the vision of Viksit Bharat.

Gupta encouraged teachers to embrace artificial intelligence (AI) and interdisciplinary learning. He called on educators to strengthen their knowledge and research capabilities.

He also emphasised unity in diversity. Teachers, he said, should uphold respect for all religions, castes, colours and languages.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Mousham Bhattacharjee, Associate Professor at Ramthakur College. Participants then joined in singing the National Song.
