Agartala, August 2: Phulo Jhanu AC began their campaign in the Baikuntha Nath Memorial Women’s Football League with a statement victory. The Kailashahar-based side outclassed debutants Dear Club 7-0 in the opening match of the tournament at the Umakanta Mini Stadium.
The Tripura Football Association organised the opening fixture under floodlights. The contest marked the official start of one of the state’s premier women’s football competitions.
From the opening whistle, Phulo Jhanu AC controlled possession and dictated the tempo. Their quick passing, organised midfield and relentless attacks kept Dear Club under constant pressure throughout the match.
