Agartala, August 29, 2019: In an exemplary gesture, one retired health worker is continuing to provide services to patients without any remuneration or honorarium. Rekharani Das – one GDA staff of Santirbazar district hospital – retired from her service four months ago. However, she decided to continue her services and she is not taking any money for her services – she is even not hesitant to opt for night duties.
Saluting her services, MS of the Hospital, JS Reang said, “We are facing man-power shortage. Rekharani, even after retiring from job, is providing services – this is certainly a notable gesture. In view of staff shortage, her service has come as relief to us as well as patients”.
Interacting with media, Rekharani said, “I loved the work. After my retirement, I decided to continue voluntarily. I urge people to come forward and get involved in voluntary services for betterment of the locality, society and the State”.
