The terminated 10323 teachers’ group which is holding hunger strike in Agartala for the last 38 days, served an ultimatum for finding a solution to their demand of giving them job back.
On behalf of the agitating axed teachers, Pradip Banik said we want solution to our demand within November 30 next – otherwise we would have to launch intense agitation in the State.
“With Assembly is ensuing, we have very limited time – we are conducting hunger strike for the last 38 days and several of us fell ill. Despite our pitiable condition, the Tripura government is not taking any concrete positive steps to end our plights. We hope government comes up with a solution within November 30 next – otherwise we would be forced to hit the streets in a bigger way”, Banik told the media in Agartala on Saturday (Nov 23).
Banik also said Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha held talks with the legal experts relating to the axed 10323 teachers recently – however, assurance from Dr Saha is still eluding.
Meantime, Dr Manik Saha while replying to a query relating to the 10323 teachers’ case during a press meeting today said that opinions of concerned legal experts were sought. However, he made it clear it is a legal issue which is not under the purview of the government.
The agitating terminated teachers’ group is pinning hope on the Chief Minister – at the same time, with time running out before the polls, they are also contemplating to go for more intense agitation demanding their re-appointments.
