Sixth Assam State Film Awards Festival will begin in Guwahati today. The festival will continue for 4 days. Eminent music director Ramen Barua will be honoured with the lifetime achievement award at the festival. Total 16 films will be screened during the this State Film Awards Festival. Critically acclaimed ‘Dwaar’ directed by Bidyut Chakraborty will be the inaugural film of the festival.
Film directors Kundan Shah, Anwar Hussain and actress Seema Biswas will attend the inaugural programme. Dignitaries of the State Government will also participate in the inaugural function. Widely known for his genre of comedy films, Kundan Shah will conduct the workshop at the Jonaki Prakalpa of the Assam State Film Corporation at Panjabari.
