Tripura News: Eid-ul-Fitr prayers offered in Tripura with traditional religious fervor
Amidst religious fervor and éclat, Eid-ul-Fitr prayers were offered in Agartala and other parts of Tripura on Thursday. Like every year, prayers were held in Eidgahs across the state following Islamic rituals. Eid-ul-Fitr brings a message of heavenly peace and joy to the lives of Muslims after a month of rigorous fasting. Eid-ul-Fitr is a festival that enhances the deep sense of brotherhood among Muslims. Eid-ul-Fitr is a joyous moment that comes after the great initiation of self-purification of Ramadan for a month.
After the Eid prayers in Agartala and other areas, the devotees embraced each other and exchanged greetings. There was a peaceful atmosphere everywhere. The Eid was celebrated in Boxanagar under the Sepahijala. There were also fairs in various places as part of the Eid festival. The festival was held in a peaceful manner across the State. Muslims went to various places and greeted people of other religions. Children also participated in the prayers along with the elders, dressed up in new clothes. After the prayers, money and coins are given to the poor as Fitra.
This year, a total of 28 Eid congregations were held in Boxanagar. Of these, the largest Eid congregation was held at the Eidgah Maidan in Boxanagar center. Around three thousand people offer prayers here.
The prayer was led by Maulana Shafiqur Islam, the Imam of Madhya Boxanagar Jame Masjid. The Eidgah Maidan was packed with people. Colorful flags were flying in the air. Everyone was wearing new clothes, pajamas, punjabis, handkerchiefs in their hands and caps on their heads. After the prayers, the Imam Sahib and all the devotees prayed for all the people of the country - May everyone live together in peace and harmony.
Many Hindu families went to Muslim families accepting Eid invitations with joy. Guests were entertained with a variety of food - like pudding, kheer, and sweets.
Meanwhile, the Sonamura sub divisional administration was on high alert to ensure that no untoward incident took place during the Eid festival.
