October 09, 2017: The real face of BJP and party-led Government unmasked in only three years – its communal agenda, anti-people policies, undemocratic decisions and corruption are no longer hidden, these are exposed in public, CPIM leaders today said in Agartala.
CPIM today held an impressive rally in Agartala as part of the nation wide protest programme to denounce BJP and BJP led Governments authoritarian attitude, Party sources said.
“CPIM is holding demonstration country wide while in Tripura, Party has organized today State wide protest programme”.
Among others, CPIM Leader Pabitra Kar and president of State CPIM, Gautam Das launched verbal tirade against BJP and party-led central Government. “Economic policies of the Government are pro-Corporate sectors while common people and weaker section of the society are shouldering financial stress. Kar and Das highlighted poor economic condition of the country and blamed the Government’s demonetization as well as GST implementation for economic debacle.
Denouncing ‘communal’ politics of BJP, Pabitra Kar alleged, BJP is trying to create communal polarization in Kerala, West Bengal and other places in the country. He also expressed utter disgust at undemocratic hegemony of BJP.Since independence India has not seen a ruling party laying siege to another party’s office – and this exactly what BJP-led Government has done – BJP has laid siege to CPIM Party Head Quarter in New Delhi. Such an act shows authoritarian character of BJP and its aggressiveness towards opposition. Gautam Das also highlighted ‘communal’ agenda of the saffron party.
Large number of people, including women and youth participated in today’s programme and expressed anguish over laying siege of CPIM Party head quarters. Many participants questioned BJP Government’s policy relating to maintaining minimum balance in banks and slapping penalty for using ATM services more than stipulated numbers.
“Let the BJP leaders explain how people of Tripura will be benefitted from Government’s policies regarding withdrawals from banks”, said one Shankar Majumder. Today’s gathering is public expression denouncing BJP-led Government’s policies.
