November 03, 2017: A commemoration ceremony of Pankaj Baidya was organized on Thursday (Nov 2) at East Jolaibari S.B. School compound under South Tripura District by the local people of East Jolaibari and Madhya Pilak to recall the very essence of Pankaj Baidya, who created an inspirational way of living for the youngsters in each and every aspect of life. He was a renowned social worker connected with local and state level NGOs like Suchetana Society and VHAT, a national award winner in trikwondo, an efficient private tutor and a sports person.
He was also a founding member of Pilak Public School, lone society running English medium school of Jolaibari locality.
‘Last year on this day he lost his life in a road accident in front of Jolaibari CHC while travelling towards his destination but left huge burden of social responsibility upon us. His death is a great loss for our society, a person like him who increased our cravings from young generation should not leave us so early. Unfortunately, his daughter Aruhi could not feel the warmth of his presence eloquently and we lost a person with substantially developed backbone which is nothing but a wit of almighty’ said MLA Jashabir Tripura during his speech on the program. The vice Chairman Jolaibari Panchyet Samity Dayal Guha along with other local were present there and expressed their sympathy towards his family members specifically daughter Aruhi. Students of Pankaj Baidya self defense institute which was started April this year also flowered his photograph during the program.
A blood donation camp was organized as a perspective of this program in the school compound where more than 27 people participated under the supervision of Tripura Blood Transfusion mission Udaipur Unit. (Mrinal Kanti Banik from Jolaibari reported).
