The United Sangtam Likhum Pumji, United Sangtam Students’ Conference and Akedah Sangtam Thsingmujanglaru have started its first phase of agitation by imposing 12-hour total bandh within their jurisdiction from 5am to 5pm today. The bandh is being imposed consequent upon the failure of the State Government in fulfilling the six-point charter of demand submitted by the organisations on 8th of this month with regard to the cold blooded murder of Late Alemba T Sangtam and his wife Narola at Mongsheki project Area, Rurrur village under Shamator Sub-Div Tuensang district on 6th of this month. A release of the organisations said that total bandh shall be imposed strictly with restrictions on movement vehicle and individuals. It has cautioned that strict action will be imposed to defaulters. However, Medical, para-military forces, exam goers, invigilator and security personnel are exempted from the purview of the bandh.
