AIR Silchar wins prestigious ‘Akashvani Annual Award-2014’

`The Regional News Unit of All India Radio Silchar has won the prestigious ‘Akashvani Annual Award-2014’ for the best RNU in the country. The award was given based on special initiatives like innovations introduced in news bulletins, content of news and current affairs programme. Out of 45 Regional News Units all over India, RNU Silchar won this prominent award for its innovative approaches and strong presence in the social media. RNU Silchar was one of the few RNUs of the country, which started facebook and twitter accounts, particularly for news bulletins.
