Union Health minister J P Nadda has announced setting up of an AIIMS in Guwahati. Mr Nadda was speaking after laying the foundation stone of super speciality block in Guwahati today.
He said that the new super speciality block will be completed within two years at the cost of 150 crore rupees.This facility will have 190 beds, Mr Nadda added. Mr.Nadda said that the Centre has decided to upgrade district hospitals at Nagaon,North Lakhimpur and Dhubri to the status of a medial college at a cost of 189 crore rupees.The Union minister further said that the Centre has released over 1 thousand 567 crore rupees to Assam under National Health Mission since May 2014.
