Connectivity to border areas is a must for easy and faster movement of the defence forces. This was stressed by Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Kalikho Pul during a meeting with Indo-Tibetan Border Police Inspector General M S Rawat. As the defence personnel serving in border areas live a harsh life, basic amenities like education and health care need to be augmented, he said. Citing strategic importance of the eastern part of Arunachal bordering Myanmar, the Chief Minister urged Rawat to set up an ITBP battalion in this zone. He assured him to provide land at minimal rate. The IG said that ITBP has recruited highest number of Arunachalee youths among the armed forces and further assured to seek special quota for the border state.
