To clear rush of passenger during summer holidays special trains are being run to various parts of the country from Northeast region by N.F.Railway. Summer specials are being run from Guwahati / Kamakhya to Pune, Bangalore, Kochuveli, Gorakhpur, Anand Vihar(New Delhi) and Kolkata with stoppages at all important stations enroute. Special trains are also being run from Dibrugarh to Anand Vihar, New Jalpaiguri to Sealdah / Howrah.
There will be total 26 trips of the 02511 / 02512 Kamakhya – Pune special train which will leave from Kamakhya every Monday and from Pune every Thursday. 24 trips of the 02509 / 02510 Kamakhya – Bangalore Suvidha special which will leave from Kamakhya every Tuesday and from Bangalore every Friday. 24 trips of the 02503 / 02504 Kamakhya – Anand Vihar Suvidha special which will leave from Kamakhya every Wednesday and from Anand Vihar every Friday. 22 trips of the 05717 / 05718 Katihar – Ferozpur Cant special which will leave from Katihar every Thursday and from Ferozpur Cant. every Friday. 26 trips of the 06335 / 06336 Guwahati – Kochuveli special which will leave from Guwahati every Wednesday and from Kochuveli every Sunday.
Special train also ran during Holi festivals from places like Silchar, Dibrugarh, Murkongselek, New Jalpaiguri and Guwahati. Additional coaches were also added in many important trains to clear rush of passengers. During the current year, running of special trains will add nearly 1, 75,000 additional seats to clear rush of passenger.
In what comes as good news to commuters from the N.E.Region to Delhi, one additional AC 3 tier coach is being permanently added to in each of the three Rajdhani Express trains plying to and from the region. These coaches will be added in place of one Pantry car coach in each of these trains which will now be running with single Pantry car. Chief Public Relations Officer of NF Rail P.J.Sharma informed this today in Maligaon.
