ProMASS News Bureau: Aug 22, 2016: Prostate Cancer is a major disease which is common among elderly men. The disease is curable but needs timely treatment.
Factors like family history of prostate cancer and age increases the risk of prostate cancer.
PROSTATE CANCER : SYMPTOMS
Frequent Urination, Inability to hold urine for long time, Urge Incontinence, Delay in starting Urination, Difficulty and Strain in passing urine, Decreased force of urine stream.
INVESTIGATIONS
Digital Rectal Examination, Trans abdominal ultrasound, Uroflowmetry, Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA), Prostatic Biopsy, CECT abdomen, Once the cancer is confirmed, Staging of cancer is done with the help of investigations and the treatment is done accordingly.

TREATMENT
Radical Prostatectomy, Radiotherapy or Brachytherapy, Hormone Therapy is required in advance stage
PREVENTION
Regular annual check-up for prostate may help in early diagnosis, Annual prostate examination after the age of 50 years of age, Start regular check up after 40 years in case of family history of Prostate cancer, Regular annual urological checkup may help in early diagnosis of the disease.
