ProMASS, Agartala: Oct 22, 2016: Tripura unit of BJP has today declared Party’s candidate today for forthcoming by-election for two assembly constituencies in the State. Sources inform, a voluntarily retired TCS officer of Tripura Government, Sristi Mohan Das will contest the Barjala (SC) constituency while the party has decided to put up its Mandal president Tapan Paul for the Khowai assembly seat. Notably, the by-election will be held on Nov 19. Meanwhile, ruling CPI-M Party has already declared its candidates and started full-fledged poll campaign.
With no poll alliance in sight and all the major Parties, Congress, BJP and Trinamool Congress Party are vying for anti-CPI(M) votes, opposition Parties are unlikely to pose any major challenge against ruling CPI-M Party, opined Political experts. Division of anti-CPI-M votes will surely be divided between at least three parties and it will provide ruling CPI-M distinct advantage, a veteran political activist of Trinamool Congress Party opined on condition of anonymity.
