Agartala (Tripura), May 30: In the 44th installment of the ‘Mukhyamantri Sameepeshu’ initiative, Tripura Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha met with citizens from various parts of the state, addressing their grievances with a focus on healthcare support. Held on Friday at 10:45 PM IST, the program highlighted the government’s commitment to resolving public issues promptly and empathetically.
Rimpi Saha (Das), a visually impaired resident of Chandrapur, Agartala, sought assistance for her 10-month-old daughter, Asmita Das, who suffers from an eye condition. After reviewing Asmita’s medical documents, Dr. Saha immediately directed the Secretary of the Social Welfare and Social Education Department to provide necessary aid. Similarly, Prasenjit Debbarma, a daily wage laborer from Asharambari, Khowai district, approached the Chief Minister for treatment of a leg ailment. Dr. Saha, after examining the documents, instructed the Medical Superintendent of GBP Hospital to arrange for Debbarma’s leg surgery.
Maron Banik from Shantirbazar requested medical support for his daughter, and the Chief Minister advised treatment at GBP Hospital. Others, including cancer patient Tapan Sarkar from Bhattapukur, Agartala; Pradeep Karmakar from Ujan Abhoynagar for his 9-month-old daughter’s treatment; Ruma Debnath from Abhoynagar; Sudeep Poddar from Paradise Chowmuhani; Shankar Majumdar from Bhattapukur; and Rajib Deb from Khowai, also sought medical assistance. Dr. Saha assured each of them comprehensive support for their treatments.
Additional attendees, including Swarnali Saha and Sharmistha Pal, discussed their concerns with the Chief Minister, receiving assurances of resolution. The event underscored Tripura’s proactive approach to addressing healthcare needs through direct citizen engagement.

Key officials, including Chief Minister’s Secretary Dr. P.K. Chakraborty, Urban Development Department Secretary Abhishek Singh, Social Welfare and Social Education Department Secretary Tapas Ray, Health Department Director Dr. Tapan Majumdar, GBP Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Shankar Chakraborty, Atal Bihari Regional Cancer Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. S. Debbarma, IGM Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Debashree Debbarma, and representatives from the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana were present in the programme.
