ProMASS, Agartala: Nov 01, 2016:
State Election Department of Tripura sources revealed, total 4 candidates have filed nomination so far for Barjala Assembly Constituency while 5 candidates have submitted nomination for Khowai Assembly Constituency.
Notably, tomorrow is the Last date of filing nomination for forthcoming by-polls for two constituencies in Tripura. Scrutiny of nomination will be done on Nov 3, 2016 while last of withdrawal of nomination is Nov 5.
Meanwhile, Candidates of CPI-M, Trinamool Congress, BJP and ‘Amra Bangali’ have already submitted nomination making the Barjala by-poll a multi-cornered fight. Similar multi-corner fight is so far obvious in Khowai Assembly Constituency also.
“Interestingly, this time by-polls are important from BJP and Trinamool Congress party’s point of view. It is almost certain that ruling CPI-M will win in both the constituencies and actual fight is for 2nd position”, opined a Political observer. Multi-corner fight will provide a distinct advantage to CPI-M as opposition votes will be divided among, at least, Trinamool Congress and BJP, opined another Political Observer. Both BJP and Trinamool Congress have are vying for the 2nd position, however, both the parties are targeting CPI-M in their campaigns and so far refrained from criticizing each other. “Though Trinamool Congress and BJP are bitter rivals in West Bengal, these two parties are not politically attacking each other and both are focusing on anti-CPI(M) campaign in almost identical line, like nepotism, financial irregularties etc. Opposition parties are yet to find any concrete issue against the ruling party ”, stated Political experts and veteran Journalists of the State.
