ProMASS, Agartala: Nov 14, 2016: Finance Minister of Assam and Convener of NEDA, Himant Biswa Sarma today addressed a public rally near Agartala, Tripura today in support of BJP candidate for upcoming by-poll in Barjala (SC) Constituency.
As the by-polls in two Assembly constituencies are approaching, political activities in Tripura are hitting high pitches. Star campaigners of all the major political Parties including ruling and favourite CPI-M, underdogs TMC and BJP and Congress are holding public rallies almost every. Today All India Vice President of TMC, Mukul Roy today met the State Election officials and urged to take necessary steps ensuring free and fair by-polls. However, It is absurd to expect free polls under Left rules, commented Roy.
Known for his administrative and poll strategy management, Himant Biswa Sarma today launched a massive verbal attack against both CPI-M and TMC. Indicating at recent intimacy between CPI-M and TMC over banning Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes, Sarma say it is likely that both the parties have stashed black money. Blaming CPI-M for its failure to implement 7th Pay Commission and pay DA as per Central Scale, Sarma said BJP led Assam Govt will implement both within next five days. He slammed CPI-M for keeping people of the State dependent on NREGA. Sarma also mentioned irregularities and corruption with NREGA in the State.
On citizenship issue in Assam, Sarma said, Assam Govt has started discussion with stakeholders and committed in ensuring safety and interests of Assamese while issuance of citizenship to Bengali Hindu refugees is also a vital priority.
Urging people to join hands with BJP, Sarma exuded confidence that BJP will be able to oust CPI-M from power in Tripura in 2018 assembly polls.
