ProMASS: Jan 21, 2017: Tripura Government has started taking action against Rose Valley Chit Fund Organization. The Government confiscated of both movable and immovable assets of the Chit Fund Company today.
The Principal Secretary of Finance Dept M. Nagaraju issued a notification on Friday to attach all the movable and immovable properties of Rose Valley in more than 20 places across the State and asked all district and sub-divisional magistrates of eight districts to take necessary action to confiscate the properties, a Finance Department official said.
SDM Sadar, Agartala Samit Roy Chowdhury said that administration confiscated the Rose Valley park of Amtali near Agartala. Moreover a seven-storied building of the organization near Rabindra Bhavan, a tea garden, nine flats, a large number of LIC policies and Vacant lands were also reportedly confiscated.
The move by the State Government assumes importance as all Opposition Parties have raised voices against LF Government and it was alleged by an Opposition MLA that the State Government did not collect tax from Rose Valley Park. The Government kept mum on this issue so far.
Over 100 workers of Rose Valley Park protested and gheraoed the DCM at the time of seizure. But the situation was under control, an official said.
