Feb 23, 2017: Four Union Ministers – JP Nadda, Sudarshan Bhagat, Rajiv Pratap Rudi and Babul Supriyo – recently visited Tripura. Interesting to note that, all the Union Minister sans Babul Supriyo praised the role of the State Government in implementing Central Schemes.“I am from a hilly State and I know how difficult it is to deliver health care services in sparsely populated hill inhabitants”, said Union Health Minister J P Nadda. Referring to success of the Tripura Government in implementing immunization programme and especially bringing down the Infant Mortality Rate below the National Avarage, Nadda said I really appreciate the grass root health workers for reducing IMR in the State significantly.
After visiting Laxmi Bil – famous for floriculture – in Sepahijala District, Union Agriculture Minister got inspired visiting the Open Field and Protective floriculture farming of Laxmi Bil. He urged farmers of the North East to take a note of Laxmi Bil and start floriculture and horticulture along with agricultural practices.
Rajiv Pratap Rudi too praised on the State Government’s achievement relating to implementation of e-gov.
It’s only Babul Supriyo, the singer turned politician cum Minister of Heavy Industries who expressed his dissatisfaction at BJP HQ while addressing media. Why no State Minister participated in the recently held Digi Dhan Mela, asked Babul. Incidentally, Budget session of Tripura Assembly was going on in full swing when Union Ministers inaugurated Digi-Dhan Mela.It is obvious that Tripura is not lagging behind in implementing Central Projects. Immunization, reducing IMR, Literacy Programme, MNREGA, Education, Agriculture and various other schemes have laid the launching pad. Now the State Government needs to take further steps to attain sustainable development that will create employment opportunities. However, for next level development, maintaining peace in the State – which sometimes being threatened by vested interests, is prerequisite.
