Mar 06, 2017: Fate of 10,323 teachers of Tripura is still hanging as the Apex Court today fixed March 8 for final hearing. Another significant case relating to reservation in promotion is scheduled to come up tomorrow.
As scheduled, the case pertaining to dismissal of 10,323 under graduate, graduate and post graduate teachers came up today for hearing. As the dismissed started making fanatic calls to scribers for latest on the case, it is learnt that case posted for final hearing on March 8.
After hearing the case partially, justices posted it for final hearing on March 8 though the State Government appealed to defer the case for a longer period. Tripura Government Teachers’ Association (TAGA) in conjunction with dismissed teachers filed the case in the Supreme Court. Several senior advocates including former Minister Salman Khushid are representing the State Government.
