Mar 09, 2017: In a desperate attempt to infuse much required oxygen, Tripura Pradesh Congress will launch “Jana Sanjog Abhiyan” from March 23 to connect with people and Party is also planning to go for a 24-hour State strike in next month.
Meanwhile, buoyed after successful civil disobedience programme held on March 5, BJP is all set to organize a mass gathering at Agartala on Friday (March 10) aiming to show strength of its organizational capacity. The National General Secretary of BJP, Ram Madhav, Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal, Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Prema Khandu, Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Prema Khandu and Finance Minister of Assam as well as Convener of NEDA Himant Biswa Sharma will address the gathering. State BJP President Biplab Deb and State Prabhari Sunil Deodhar will also speak on this occasion. Elaborate security arrangements have been made for tomorrow’s programme.
On Jana Sanjog Abhiyan, PCC President Birajit Sinha today at Agartala stated, Tripura Pradesh Congress is contemplating to organize a 24-hour general strike during mid April in support of 5-point demand and Party will organize state wide ‘Jana Sanjog Abhiyan’ from March 23 in support of 5-point demand list.
Focusing on 5-point demand list, he said, the State has failed in providing Health care services, rural and hilly areas are experiencing scarcity of drinking water, implementation of MNREGA has been stalled and CBI inquiry has not been initiated relating to Chit Fund scam. He also said, Pradesh Congress is also planning to hold a 24 hour general strike during mid April. However, no dates have been finalized yet, he commented.
From activities of political parties, it is obvious that forthcoming 2018 Assembly election will become an interesting battle of nerves and strategies.
