Mar 10, 2017: Billed as first warm-up rally, Tripura Pradesh BJP today organized a mass protest rally at Agartala. The rally was organized mainly protesting against alleged murder of a BJP Yuva leader. In addition, the rally also focused upon 11-point charter of demands including CBI inquiry into Chit Fund scam. BJP leaders lambasted the Ruling Left Front on various issues.
Addressing the rally, BJP National Secretary Ram Madhav slammed State Government for alleged rise in women atrocities, unemployment and overall mi-governance. “While BJP is all set to form Government in Manipur after March 11, the same will happen in Tripura after 2018 Assembly Polls”, Ram Madhav commented about prospect of BJP in Tripura.
In a similar tone, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also criticized the CPIM-led Government and said Modi-led BJP Government is keen to develop the North Eastern Region including Tripura. “However, Tripura is lagging behind in the path of development”, he lamented.
State Prabhari Sunil Deodhar and State BJP President Biplab Deb too launched scathing attack on ruling Party, especially on attack on BJP workers and women atrocities.
In the rally, former Trinamool Congress President Surajit Dutta, who also was a President of State Congress and was a PWD Minister, formerly joined BJP today along with Ramapada Jamatia.
