May 02, 2017: Nagaland CM, Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu has extended greetings to the Ao community on the occasion of Moatsü Festival. The CM said Moatsü Mong is celebrated after the sowing is done and the festival provides them a period of recreation and entertainment, after the stressful work involved in seed sowing.
Dr. Shürhozelie said being the pioneer district, the Aos have a huge responsibility in many ways to carry the Nagas to a progressive society. He expressed his happiness over the friendship extended to the Angami community through, Angami Public Organization on the occasion of the festival this year. In his massage, Dr. Shürhozelie said the seed of friendship the Aos have sown today will definitely bear fruits tomorrow, not only between the two tribes, but among all the Naga tribes.
Meanwhile, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has also extended greetings to the Ao community in celebrating Moatsü, the premier festival of the community. In a message, NPCC President, K. Therie said Moatsü is not only a time filled with merry making, singing and feasting, but it is also a time to revisit our culture and display it in the finest way to be passed on down to posterity. On the occasion, Therie called for a time for fostering peace, goodwill, brotherhood and oneness across society.
