June 06, 2017: Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) today declared the results of Madhyamik examinations and out of total regular candidated 67.38 per cent sailed through the examination hurdle. However, all the famous and renowned schools sans Shishu Bihar School of Agartala failed to script a mark in the merit list.
Provisional merit list suggests, Arnab Chowhan of Shishu Bihar School topped the Madhyamik examinations- 2017. He obtained 687 out of 700 marks with letters in all seven subjects.Priditi Das of Amarpur English Medium Higher Secondary School ranked second in the merit list. She scored 671 with letters in all seven subjects.The third position was secured by Sagar Chakraborty of Shishu Bihar School with 668 marks and letters in all seven subjects. According to the results published by the TBSE, this year altogether 18 students – 13 boys and 5 girls – shared the top-ten merit list.
Announcing the results, TBSE president Prof. Mihir Kanti Deb said The pass percent has increased from 66.14 percent in 2016 to 67.38 percent this year.
The TBSE president said, “Altogether 81 schools secured cent percent pass marks and 12 amongst total 956 schools of the state secured 100 percent failure.” Though, most of the renowned schools have failed to secure position in
the merit list, five candidates of Shishu Bihar School bagged positions among the top ten rank holders.
According to provisional merit list, the fourth position was jointly shared by five students with 664 marks each. The five rank holders are Krishnendu Saha of Udaipur English Medium Higher Secondary School, Akash Majumder of Belonia Government English Medium HS School, Mahulmita Laskar of Vivekananda Shishu Niketan, Abir Debnath of Shishu Bihar HS School and Sourav Debnath of Henry Derozio Academy HS School. Ratnadeep Chakrabarti of Shiksha Niketan obtained 661 marks with letters in all seven subjects and bagged the fifth position.
Diganta Baidya of Brintak Siksha Niketan secured sixth position with 660 marks. The seventh position was jointly secured by Poulami Majumder of Vivekananda Shishu Niketan and Sourav Podder of Ramkrishna Vivekananda Vidyamandir with 659 marks each. Both of them scored letter marks in all seven subjects. The eighth rank was also shared by two candidates- Rismita Dhar of Dharmanagar Government Girls’ HS School and Prithi Das of Shishu Bihar HS School with total 658 marks.
Kuldeep Das of Udaipur English Medium HS School and Ratnadeep Majumder of Shishu Bihar HS School scored 657 each and jointly secured the ninth position of top ten merit list.
The tenth rank was jointly shared by Arindam Debnath of Bishalgarh English Medium HS School and Iman Podder of Ramkrishna Vivekananda Vidyamandir with total 656 marks and letter in all seven subjects.
From Madrasa Alim (secondary examination), as stated by the TBSE president, 35 candidates including 6 female appeared in the examinations under ‘regular’ category. Among them 22 candidates secured pass marks, which asserted pass percentage of 62.86 percent.
He added that the pass percentages from the schools of Autonomous District Council (ADC) have significantly increased compared to the results of last year.
Under ‘regular’ category, a total of 7754 candidates appeared in the examinations. Among them 3803 candidates secured pass marks, which asserted the pass percentage of 49.05 percent. Last year, the pass percentage of ADC schools was 41.46 percent.
A total of 14 candidates (7 male and 7 female candidates) appeared in the examinations from ‘blind’ category; among them all candidates got pass marks with two first divisions, seven second divisions and five third divisions.
