June 14, 2017: CPIM State secretary Bijan Dhar today held both BJP and IPFT responsible for creating troubles and disturbing peaceful situation in the State. Criticizing BJP, Dhar alleged BJP has resorted to political hooliganism and creating troubles. He also rapped IPFT for indulging in divisive politics. Saying that a conspiracy has been hatched to dislodge CPIM from power, Bjian Dhar appealed to peace loving people of the State to foil such ‘dirty’ politics of BJP and IPFT, in particular.
Addressing a press conference today at Agartala Bijan Dhar said, “The miscreants of BJP had attack on some farmers in Dharmanagar and attempted to demolish a Workers Union’s Party office at Dharmanagar”. He also alleged, BJP and its frontal organizations tried to disturb the peaceful admission process in Teliamura Degree College. He also focused on IPFT’s call to road and rail blockade and alleged about its undisclosed nexus with BJP and banned outfit NLFT. He said, Road and rail blockade by IPFT will create huge law and order problem as well as create artificial crisis of commodities.
Dhar referred to a meeting between IPFT leaders and MoS of PMO and alleged IPFT led by NC Debbarma had called the indefinite road and rail blockade in support of their separate state demand after a meeting with Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Jitendra Singh on May 17 in New Delhi. It clearly indicates the role of BJP to disturb ongoing peace and development of the state.
On IPFT and NLFT, Dhar stated, “We had specific information that terrorist group NLFT had ousted Biswamohan Debbarma and selected Subir Debbarma as top leader of the militant outfit. Under Subir Debbarma’s leadership, NLFT had extended their helping hand to support the IPFT’s divisive calls on road and rail blockade”.
Drawing parallel to Manipur, Bijan Dhar said, months before the Manipur assembly elections, BJP instigated the NSCN (IM) -Naga group to block the state’s vital National Highway to create chaotic situation in Manipur aiming to dislodge the incumbent Congress from power. After BJP government assumed office in Manipur, the several-months-long road blockade was withdrawn. BJP might be successful in Manipur, but it would not be winning its conspiracy in Tripura to dislodge the Left Front government, said Dhar.
Mentioning incidences happened during 1988 Assembly poll, Dhar said people of Tripura would not allow repetition of any kind of conspiracy against the incumbent Left Front government.
He asked categorically the BJP to clear their stand on support of IPFT’s divisive calls for separate state and call for indefinite road and rail blockade.
Speaking in the press meet, CPIM central committee member and senior leader Goutam Das said that a heinous conspiracy has been framed to disturb the peace and stability of the state, but we are very much hopeful that peace loving people of the state will boycott all kind of divisive calls and maintain the peaceful atmosphere of the state.
