June 26, 2017: ONGC has set a target of producing 50 lakhs cubic meter gas during next year in Tripura. Addressing a press conference today at Agartala, outgoing Assest Manager of ONGC Tripura Asset, SC Soni stated this. Notably, SC Soni will retire on July 31 after serving ONGC for 35 years.
Mentioning that ONGC Tripura Asset is producing 45 lakh cubic meter gas at present, he said, the company will further intensify exploration and production of hydrocarbon in Tripura. “Khubal gas field will soon become operational while gas production from wells at Gajalia will start from December, 2017”, Soni said. Briefing about activities of ONGC Tripura Asset, Soni informed, there are 223 wells in the State out of which gas was found in 50 per cent wells.
SC Soni said Agartala Dome (ADB) well in Gabardi area will remain shut-down for 20 days for maintenances of its wells and gas pipelines from August 19 next and the OTPC run Palatana power project will also put down its shutters for annual maintenance during the same period.
Outlining future course of action, Soni said, Union Government has emphasized on Hydro-carbon vision 2030 and accordingly sanctioned Rs 3104 cr for ONGC Tripura. Hailing the role of the State Government and District administration, Soni said, he received all possible cooperation during his two years service in the State.
