August 03, 2017: As the Left Front Government appears not to soften its its stance on their demand so far, Opposition Parties are trying to grab the opportunity and corner LF Government before 2018 Assembly polls in Tripura. After Congress, today BJP leaders shared dais with the SSA staffs at Agartala.
On the third day of the fast unto death agitation by SSA staffs, BJP leaders and Chakma Students’ Association today met the agitators and extended solidarity. However as the State Government is in mood to soften its stance and concede the demand for service regularization, the issue may not be resolved very soon.
The State leader of Mahila Morcha, Kalyani Roy and ABVP State president Tinku Roy today met the SSA demonstrators and fully supported the agitation. Speaking with the agitators, Kalyani Roy said, BJP will look into the regularization issue if voted to power. “In many of the BJP ruled States including Assam, the services have been regularized”, she said and clearly mentioned that the Central Government would give its nod to regularization if the State Government proposed.
Vehemently opposing State Education Minister’s statement when the Minister stated regularization issue is not a State matter, Kalyani Roy challenged the validity of the statement made by the Education Minister. She said, State BJP will communicate with the central leaders and apprised them of the present impasse. She said, “We will write letter to HRD Minister and will also send letter to the Prime Minister informing about the agitation and State Government’s role”.
A medical team today visited the agitation place and checked out health condition of the fasting agitators. According to sources, many of the agitators were stated to be feeling unwell.
